Body Tattoo | Fine-Line Procedure Care

Pre-Care:

  1. Arrive well rested, hydrated and not intoxicated.

  2. Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments in the desired area within 60 days prior to your scheduled appointment.

  3. Do not work out 24 hours prior to your tattoo appointment.

  4. Shave the desired area one to two weeks prior to arrival and again, the day of arrival. This will also prepare your skin for the tattoo.

  5. 24 hours prior to tattooing, avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, soda, etc), alcohol.

  6. 48 hours prior to tattooing, refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E (check your multi-vitamin), check your prescriptions. If you’re unsure, please reach out. *Consult your Doctor before discontinuing any prescriptions.

  7. 72 hours prior, avoid direct sunlight (tanning).

Post-Care:

  1. Leave Tegaderm cover on anywhere from 3-6 days (the longer the better).

  2. Once removed, with clean hands, gently wash your tattoo, as well as once a day (morning recommended), with provided soap and water.

  3. Pat dry with a clean, dry paper towel (not a bath towel). Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor.

  4. Continue to gently wash your tattoo once a day (morning recommended) and use provided Aquaphor 5-7 times a day for the following 10 days. 

  5. Your tattoo should be healed by 2 weeks.

While Scabs Are Intact:

  1. Do not prematurely pick at your tattoo.

  2. Avoid direct sunlight.

  3. Avoid saunas, pools and the beach.

  4. Avoid excess sweating; No working out/hiking.

Reminders:

  1. If you bled more than average during your procedure, please refrain from using blood thinners for 24 hours, additionally.

  2. Don't forget, put nothing else on your tattoo while healing other than what was given in your post-care bag.

Helpful Hints:

  1. Avoid sleeping directly on your tattoo if possible. Leave Tegaderm on for 3-6 days especially for sleeping purposes.

Long-Term Care:

  1. Once healed, apply sunscreen (SPF30-50) directly onto your  tattoo for LONG TERM PROTECTION. *Do not apply sunscreen on your fresh tattoo (10-14 days).

  2. Don’t forget to book your included second session. Second sessions take place 6-12 weeks after your first session.

  3. Coming in to renew your delicate fine-line tattoo every few years is recommended especially for these areas which fade faster: feet, knees, fingers and elbows.


Cosmetic Tattoo | Eyebrow Procedure Care

Pre-Care:

  1. Please refrain from using anything to prevent aging or acne: AHA or BHA (ex: retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, hydroquinone, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc.) for 2-weeks prior (over the counter), or 4- weeks prior (topical prescriptions).

  2. Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments within 60 days prior to your scheduled appointment.

  3. Do not work out 24 hours prior to your cosmetic tattoo appointment.

  4. Do not receive injections (Botox, JuveDerm, Radiesse, etc.) within 4-weeks prior to your scheduled tattoo appointment.

  5. 24 hours prior to cosmetic tattooing, avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, soda, etc), alcohol.

  6. 48 hours prior to cosmetic tattooing, refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E (check your multi-vitamin), check your prescriptions. If you’re unsure, please reach out. *Please consult your Doctor before discontinuing any prescriptions.

  7. If you would like to book a brow wax with HL Studio + Ink, please book 3-7 days before your cosmetic tattoo. *This is optional. Otherwise, avoid any form of hair removal or trimming 3 weeks prior. This way, Heidi can see how and where your hair grows.

  8. 72 hours prior, avoid direct sunlight (tanning).

  9. Avoid brow henna for 4-weeks prior.

  10. Avoid brow lamination for 2-weeks prior.

30-Minutes Post Procedure:

  1. Wipe in the direction of hair growth (medium pressure, don’t scrub) with the provided sterile water wipe.

  2. Evenly apply a thin layer of the balm provided. One rice size is enough for both eyebrows. Do this every hour, for a total of 4 hours, consecutively. (ex: procedure finished at 2pm. Begin this process at 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm and 5:30pm.)

Before Bed - Evening of Procedure:

  1. Wash your hands.

  2. OUTSIDE OF THE SHOWER, by the sink, use one pump of tattoo soap and some water to GENTLY cleanse your eyebrows, helping to remove excess oil or oozing.

  3. Rinse thoroughly! If you have filtered or distilled water, this is best. Cup hands with water and rinse to make sure all the soap is removed. 

  4. PAT dry with a clean paper towel (night of procedure, apply pressure for 30-60 seconds). 

  5. Evenly apply a thin layer of the balm (one rice size for BOTH brows).

  6. Do this morning and night for the next 10-14 days depending on how long your scabs are intact. Please wash very gently when your scabs are starting to peel. Do not prematurely remove the scabs with too much pressure.

While Scabs Are Intact:

  1. Do not prematurely pick at your scabs.

  2. Avoid direct sunlight.

  3. Avoid saunas, pools and the beach.

  4. Avoid excess sweating; No working out/hiking.

Reminders:

  1. If you bled more than average during your procedure, please refrain from using blood thinners for 24 hours, additionally.

  2. Still discontinue AHA’s and BHA’s (ex: retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, hydroquinone, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc.) during the healing process.

  3. Don’t forget no makeup, no sunscreen, wetting of your brows (otherwise); nothing else other than these directions and what was given in your post-care bag.

Helpful Hints:

  1. Please don’t skip your skin-care routine. To wash your face, wash and rinse cheekbone down. Use a makeup wipe or wash cloth gently in-between the eyebrows and forehead to cleanse. 

  2. The shower visors given are water-resistant, not waterproof. They will fall off if soaked.

  3. Avoid sleeping on your face. 

  4. Since you cannot apply SPF yet, wear a hat and sunglasses while outside or even in the car.

Long-Term Care:

  1. The conditional use of AHA’s and BHA’s, Retinol, or anything dedicated to anti-aging or acne within your skincare, can lead to a premature fading of your tattoo and/or a change of color. What this means is you may need to come in sooner for your annuals. *Do not apply these products directly onto the brows.

  2. Once healed, apply sunscreen (SPF30-50) directly onto your eyebrows for LONG TERM PROTECTION. *Do not apply sunscreen on freshly tattooed brows (10-14 days).

  3. Book your annual for before the two year mark.


Cosmetic Tattoo | Lip Blush Care

Pre-Care:

  1. Please refrain from using anything to prevent aging or acne: AHA or BHA (ex: retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, hydroquinone, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc.) for 2-weeks prior (over the counter), or 4- weeks prior (topical prescriptions).

  2. Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments within 60-days prior to your scheduled appointment.

  3. Do not work out 24-hours prior to your cosmetic tattoo appointment.

  4. Do not receive injections (Botox, JuveDerm, Radiesse, etc.) within 4-weeks prior to your scheduled tattoo appointment.

  5. 24-hours prior to cosmetic tattooing, avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, soda, etc.), alcohol.

  6. 72-hours prior, avoid direct sunlight (tanning).

  7. One-week leading up to your appointment, using a gentle sugar scrub and massaging it into the lips, nightly, will help to prepare your lip texture for the procedure.

  8. After gently scrubbing your lips, a nightly mask of either Vaseline or any lip mask will keep them hydrated.

  9. If you have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, an antiviral medication is required to use prior to your appointment and during healing.

30-Minutes Post Procedure:

  1. With the provided sterile water wipe, clean your lips gently (soft pressure, don’t scrub).

  2. Apply a generous amount of the balm provided.

  3. Do steps one and two every 30-minutes for the next 2-hours (four times total). DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LIPS TO DRY OUT. Please apply balm in between cleanings, if needed. (ex: procedure finished at 2:00pm. Begin this process at 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm and 5:30pm.)

  4. Continue to apply balm OFTEN (every 30-minutes).

Before Bed - Evening of Procedure:

  1. Wash your hands.

  2. OUTSIDE OF THE SHOWER, by the sink, use one pump of tattoo soap and some water to GENTLY cleanse your lips, helping to remove excess oil or oozing.

  3. PAT dry with a clean paper towel. 

  4. Apply a thicker layer of balm before bedtime.

  5. Do this morning and night for the next 7-10 days depending on how long your lips continue to peel. Please wash very gently and apply balm OFTEN (every 30-minutes) throughout each day.

While Scabs Are Intact:

  1. Do not prematurely pick at your lips while peeling.

  2. Avoid icing your lips.

  3. Avoid direct sunlight.

  4. Avoid saunas, pools and the beach.

  5. Avoid excess sweating; No working out/hiking.

  6. Avoid spicy foods.

  7. Avoid whitening toothpastes.

  8. Drink through a straw.

Reminders:

  1. If you bled more than average during your procedure, please refrain from using blood thinners for 24-hours, additionally.

  2. Continue to take your anti-viral, if applicable.

  3. Still discontinue AHA’s and BHA’s (ex: retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, hydroquinone, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc.) during the healing process.

  4. If you smoke, please do not smoke for 72-hours after the procedure. 

  5. Don’t forget, No makeup (lip-gloss or chapstick), no sunscreen, wetting of your lips (otherwise); nothing else other than these directions and what was given in your post-care bag.

  6. If you plan to wear a disposable face mask all day while healing, please switch out your mask for a clean one every hour, in order to prevent bacteria and infection.

  7. Apply extra balm (given) on lips while sleeping and showering to avoid getting them wet in the shower.

Helpful Hints:

  1. Please don’t skip your skin-care routine. To wash your face, use a makeup wipe or wash cloth gently around the area and wash the rest of your face, as normal. 

  2. Avoid sleeping on your face.

Long-Term Care:

  1. The continual use of AHA’s and BHA’s, Retinol, or anything dedicated to anti-aging or acne within your skincare, can lead to premature fading of your tattoo and/or a change of color. What this means is you may need to come in sooner for your annuals. *Do not apply these products directly onto your lips.

  2. Once healed, applying a sunscreen (SPF30-50) based chapstick daily will help for LONG TERM PROTECTION. *Do not apply on freshly tattooed lips (7-10 days).

  3. Book your annual for before the two year mark.


Tattoo REMOVAL | Care

Pre-Care:

  1. For cosmetic tattoo removal, please refrain from using anything to prevent aging or acne: AHA or BHA (ex: retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, hydroquinone, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc.) for 2-weeks prior (over the counter), or 4-weeks prior (topical prescriptions).

  2. Avoid chemical peels or laser treatments in or around the desired area within 60-days prior to your scheduled appointment.

  3. Do not work out 24-hours prior to your removal appointment.

  4. For cosmetic tattoo removal, do not receive injections (Botox, JuveDerm, Radiesse, etc.) within 4-weeks prior to your scheduled appointment.

  5. 24-hours prior to cosmetic tattooing, avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, soda, etc.), alcohol.

  6. 72-hours prior, avoid direct sunlight (tanning).

  7. For lip blush removal, if you have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, an antiviral medication is required to use prior to your appointment and during healing.

  8. For brow removal, avoid brow henna for 4 weeks prior.

  9. For brow removal, avoid brow lamination for 2 weeks prior.

Post Procedure:

  1. Immediately following the procedure, you will leave the studio with a generous amount of the Silver Gel applied to the treated area (also provided in your bag). If the area is one that will come into contact with clothing, we will apply a non-stick bandage for you . (Not for cosmetic tattoos.)

  2. Apply Silver Gel (provided), with a clean cotton swab 2-3 times for the remainder of the day.

The Next Day(s):

  1. A scab will form over the treated area and will naturally fall off in approximately two weeks. It is critical to keep the scab clean using the soap provided. Do a quick wash (rinse) once daily very, very gently by tapping and patting dry with a clean paper towel (not bath towel).

  2. Apply Silver Gel (provided), with a clean cotton swab 2-3 times daily for 10 days.

  3. No prolonged exposure to the sun until the scab falls off naturally (in approximately 10 days to 2 weeks).

  4. After the scab falls off naturally, continue to use the Silver Gel twice daily and shield the area from the sun and apply a pure zinc oxide SPF. The sun can be very damaging to new skin.

  5. If the treated area is below the elbow or knee, elevate for 10 minutes every 2 hours for 3 days.

  1. To prevent the risk of infection, always wash your hands thoroughly and vigorously with soap and warm water before applying aftercare and a bandage (bandage for large body areas).

  2. Only Silver Gel is to be used topically, with no makeup, lotions, or other ointments to the treated area until the scab has naturally fallen off.

  3. Do not pick at the scab as this can cause scarring and less ink removal.

  4. If an infection or adverse reaction occurs at the site of the treated area, contact Heidi immediately, and seek medical advice if necessary.

  5. UNDO aftercare products are scientifically proven and highly recommended to help reduce the risk of scarring.

  6. Still discontinue AHA’s and BHA’s (ex: retinol, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, hydroquinone, salicylic acid, lactic acid, etc.) during the healing process for cosmetic tattoo removal.

  7. Don’t forget no makeup, no sunscreen, excess wetting of the area; nothing else other than these directions and what was given in your post-care bag.

Long-Term Care:

  1. After the removal process is complete the skin may appear pink for approximately one year, it is very important to protect this new skin from the sun with a zinc SPF (SPF30-50) *Do not apply on freshly removed or scabbed areas.

  2. Once the area is 4-weeks healed, book your next session for 5-12 weeks out (as needed).
